4 men rape girl, stab boyfriend

POLICE in New Lucena, Iloilo are on the hunt for four suspects who allegedly raped a woman and stabbed her boyfriend in the town last Saturday.

Lovers Dino and Dina (not their real names) met the misfortune at Brgy. Wari-Wari, New Lucena.

Dino was supposed to bring Dina home in Mina via Brgy. Tambaring, New Lucena but the motorcycle ran out of fuel.

Dino then left his motorcycle at his home in Guinobatan and accompanied his girlfriend on foot.

As they approached Wari-Wari village, four men approached them from the dark. Dino tried to resist the attackers but one of them stabbed him with a knife in the abdomen and back. Not content, the suspects mauled the fallen boyfriend.

The suspects then turned their attention to Dina who was pleading for her boyfriend’s life. Two of the suspects restrained Dina’s limbs while the other undressed her.

According to Dina, two of the suspects took turns in abusing her by the roadside while her boyfriend was writhing in pain.

Dina said she faked unconsciousness then dashed towards a house after the suspects lowered their guards. The owners of the house then aided Dina to the police station where she narrated the incident.

Responding police officers found Dino in the crime scene but the suspects were nowhere to be found.

Dino was brought to a hospital in Iloilo City and was discharged Monday evening.

According to initial police investigation, Dino has identified the four suspects. The victim said he had a fight with two of the suspects months ago.

Investigators said the incident may have something to do with Dino’s spat with two of the suspects.

The case is now under the jurisdiction of the Women and Children’s Desk of the New Lucena police.
